Software licence
End User Licence Agreement
Last updated: October 22, 2026
1. Licence
Subject to an active subscription or authorized evaluation, HM Studio grants the customer a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use HM Studio Nesting for the customer’s internal business operations on approved systems.
2. Restrictions
You may not sublicense, resell, publicly distribute, rent, reverse engineer, decompile, defeat licence or access controls, remove proprietary notices, or use the software to provide an unauthorized hosted service, except where a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. Beta and pre-release software
Production Beta and other pre-release versions may contain defects, change without notice, and have limited compatibility. They must not be relied upon without independent testing and an appropriate recovery plan.
4. Verification is mandatory
The software assists with nesting and output generation; it does not approve a machining program for production. A qualified operator must verify every layout and generated program, including dimensions, orientation, spacing, grain, toolpaths, tools, compensation, coordinates, machine configuration, workholding, clearances, sequence, and safe operating conditions. Use a simulation, dry run, or test cycle before production.
5. Updates and support
Software updates and standard technical support are included while an eligible subscription remains active. Custom programming, training, on-site work, data conversion, and specialized integration may require a separate written quote.
6. Ownership and feedback
HM Studio and its licensors retain all rights in the software and documentation. You may provide feedback voluntarily; HM Studio may use that feedback to improve its products without transferring ownership of your confidential files or production data.
7. Suspension and termination
The licence may be suspended or terminated if the subscription ends, payment remains overdue, access controls are bypassed, the software is redistributed, or these terms are materially breached. On termination, you must stop using and uninstall the software, subject to applicable law.
8. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the software is provided without warranties beyond those expressly stated in a written agreement. HM Studio is not responsible for production loss caused by unverified output, unsafe operation, unsuitable machine settings, or use outside the documented and tested workflow. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
9. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Questions can be submitted by email through the Support & Enquiries section on hm-studio.ca.
